Happy Hour at The Terrace has some major plus sides: the beach (as in- literally right on it), the service (outstanding), and the dessert (AMAZING, unfortunately NOT on Happy Hour, but sampled by our crew anyway). Another plus, a free bread basket for every table; warm and fresh- yum!
After tasting several of their fruity martinis, as well as a specialty cocktail or two our advice is this: stick with the wine or beer and you'll be good to go. If you must go martini expect 'em syrupy sweet and go for the Peach. The Classic Caiprinha is strong enough to blur that fabulous sunset view in two sips time. But, we repeat, stick to our advice by sticking with the wine and beer and you'll be happy.
Here's the dish on the food; it's just OK. The Margarita Pizza was sub par but we gave it two thumbs up for having a crispy crust. If you love movie theater and ball park nachos you'll love 'em here too. All batter and no shrimp on the fried shrimp, and the fries were great but you have to order the not so great chicken tenders to get them. Go for the Steak Tacos which were the best thing on the HH menu. Does The Terrace's location on the beach, and fabulous views distract from the not so fabulous food? Absolutely. But, we eventually tore our eyes away and honed our taste buds in to find the best thing to order during their Happy Hour is not on the HH menu at all...their dessert.
If beach views and great service trump taste, The Terrace is your Happy Hour place.
- Happy Hour Queens: Wow, we've encountered a place where even we didn't like the drinks and we like it all. Go for the Peach if in the Martini mood or stick with beer and/or wine for the safest choice!
- Dr. Drinks: Drinks blah...Food blah!
- Veggie Vixen: Skip the Happy Hour food and get dessert. Sorry :-( But, an amazing dessert eaten on the beach will fall any girl into a swoon! Perfect for a date!
